York-based Hethertons Solicitors has once again shown its support for its charity of the year for 2024, the York Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), with a very special cake sale.
A range of homemade delights were prepared, shared and sold between the team, raising vital funds and showing off no shortage of hidden baking talent.
Enjoyed by bakers and buyers alike, the event was the latest in a busy calendar of initiatives to support the SCBU at York Hospital and its incredible work with local families.
The Unit provides essential, often life-saving care for premature or unwell babies, with support and advice for parents at every stage of their child’s admission and discharge – staffed by highly trained specialists and purpose-built with security, community and the best care in mind.
Allison Bowman, Admin Manager at Hethertons, said: “We’re always delighted to have an opportunity to support the SCBU. It is an absolutely invaluable service to have in the community and something that is close to the hearts of so many local people.
“Our talented team channelled their inner Mary Berry to provide some tasty treats for the event, and everyone donated generously.
