Employers from York and beyond have taken part in a seminar hosted by Hethertons Solicitors, which has helped them get up to date with major changes to employment law due to take effect in April.
The firm hosted a free breakfast briefing for local businesses that covered the new rights for workers and employees under the Government’s Good Work Plan, the introduction of Parental Bereavement Leave and clarification on the rules surrounding employment post-Brexit.
The event was well attended, with guest providing great feedback on the practical advice given to get them as they get ready for the April deadline.
Attendees were also given a chance to meet up and network with other like-minded local business owners and employers in a relaxed, friendly environment.
David Scott, Head of Employment Law at Hethertons Solicitors led the seminar. He said: “We were delighted to meet with so many employers to share information on the upcoming changes in the weeks and months to come.
“Businesses face a number of challenges when it comes to employment in 2020, so they must continue to seek help if they are unsure of their obligations.”
