Fetal heart charity, Tiny Tickers, has thanked a leading lawyer at Hethertons Solicitors for riding in aid of the charity at this year’s Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100.
Tom Henry, a Director at the law firm, battled raging winds and heavy downpours at the event, which saw him ride alongside more than 30,000 cyclists through the capital and into the Surrey countryside before finishing back in London at The Mall.
His hard work and efforts were in aid of Hethertons’ chosen charity of 2018, Tiny Tickers, and thanks to his efforts the practice has already managed to raise nearly £250 for the organisation.
Tiny Tickers is dedicated to helping children with a range of heart conditions and improving early detection rates of cardiac conditions.
In a letter to Tom, Jenni Cowlishaw a Senior Fundraiser at Tiny Tickers said: “I do hope that you had a good time in the epic Ride 100 event. Thank you so much for your support for Tiny Tickers, it truly means so much to us and the money you have raised so far will go a long way to helping more babies with serious heart conditions.”
Established following the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 is a tough and competitive event, which was made harder this year by the unexpected weather.
Reflecting on his ride in London and Surrey, Tom said: “It was a good day, although it was the first rain in London for six weeks, which made the ride that little bit tougher.
“We have had a fantastic initial response to our year of fundraising for Tiny Tickers, but we hope to raise even more over the next few months for this wonderful charity.”
Tom is one of a number of solicitors and staff at Hethertons, which has offices in York and Boroughbridge, who are raising money for the charity this year.
