Hethertons Solicitors, one of York’s leading law firms, is offering local businesses the chance to get up to speed with the threats posed by the digital world with the help of leading cyber-security experts.
The firm will be holding a free breakfast seminar at its offices at Tudor Court in York Business Park on 12 October 2017 in partnership with TekSupportUK.
Andy Chipps of TekSupportUK will provide useful tips on how to beat cyber attacks.
Hethertons’ specialist employment team will give practical advice on managing employees’ use of IT, emails and social media.
Those attending will also be given the opportunity to learn about the new data protection rules that come into force in May 2018.
Jo Yeates, Head of Employment at Hethertons Solicitors, said: “Technology has produced huge benefits for individuals and businesses, but it also creates significant threats.”
“These threats can come from outside the business in the form of cyber-attacks and also from inside, through employees’ misuse of IT and social media.
“Businesses need to be prepared to face these issues, which is why we are inviting local firms to join us to learn how best to protect themselves.”
