One of York’s leading legal firms, Hethertons Solicitors, is celebrating with three of their team members, Amber Khanna, Beth Pattison and Prudence Walton who have all qualified to become solicitors.
Prudence Walton, who is the most recent member of the firm’s team to qualify as a solicitor, works in the firm’s Dispute Resolution Department. Prudence assists in all areas of dispute resolution and litigation, including contractual disputes, corporate disputes, debt claims, land and boundary disputes and Landlord and Tenant matters. Prudence commented: “The work allocated to me during my training has been challenging, however, throughout this the Hethertons directors have been incredibly supportive which has continued post qualification.”
The firm are very active in their training and regularly encourage trainees to seek out support, as well as providing regular meetings and reviews throughout the training process to help solicitors with their qualifications.
Amber Khanna passed her final accreditation earlier this year. Amber works within the firm’s busy Commercial Property Department, where she specialises in both commercial and residential property matters, such as sales, leases and re-mortgages.
Amber said: “The training at Hethertons is varied and interesting. I’ve been able to experience what it’s like to represent clients in court and attend mediations. This has been really beneficial and gave real insight into life as a solicitor in these fields of law.”
Beth Pattison, who qualified at the end of 2018, has been continuing her work in Hethertons’ Wills and Probate Department. Her role in the department includes drafting wills and lasting powers of attorney, as well as dealing with the administration of estates.
Beth said, “The team in the Wills and Probate department have been great. I have the support and advice whenever I need it whilst still being able to maintain my independence with client files”.
Simon Nellar, Director at Hethertons Solicitors, said: “In the last year we have seen some fantastic work by our junior lawyers and we are very happy to see them now qualifying as fully-fledged solicitors.
“We place client care at the centre of what we do and Amber, Beth and Pru have all shown an immense amount of dedication to our clients, while also training hard to take on the demanding role of a solicitor.”
Hethertons Solicitors has a long and proud history of supporting lawyers into the field of law and has helped a number of its existing team attain qualifications.
