Hethertons Solicitors hope to raise hundreds during York Legal Walk

A team of 14 volunteers from one of York’s leading law firms, Hethertons Solicitors, are getting ready to take part in this year’s York Legal Walk.

Having raised more than £570 during the event last year – making the firm the largest donator in 2018 – the team at Hethertons hope that they can raise even more during the latest walk that is due to take place on 21 May 2019.

The 10km route around the historic city regularly sees lots of the region’s leading legal minds raise money for Yorkshire Legal Support Trust – a provider of free local legal advice.

As proud supporters of the event, Hethertons are fielding their largest team to date, which includes staff from all the firm’s departments, as well as one of its Directors.

Barbara Stephens, Head of the Private Client Department at the practice and one of the walkers, said: “We were completely blown away by how much we managed to raise in 2018 and we are hoping that with our bigger team we can collect even more donations this year.

“The work that the Yorkshire Legal Support Trust does is essential and helps with homelessness, resolving debt problems, gaining care for the elderly and disabled and fighting exploitation for some of the most vulnerable people in our society.”

Money raised by the team will help keep the agencies operating and try to ensure their services are as effective as possible.
