Two colleagues from York law firm, Hethertons Solicitors, are to take part in this year’s Simply Health Great North Run to raise money for the firm’s charity of the year, Tiny Tickers.
Barbara Stephens and Helen Grainger are making their final preparations for the run, which is due to take place on Sunday 9 September 2018 in Newcastle upon Tyne.
They will be joining more than 50,000 runners at the event which starts in Newcastle city centre before winding its way 13.1 miles to the coast in South Shields, all in aid of fetal heart charity Tiny Tickers.
The organisation is the firm’s chosen charity for 2018 and it has already raised hundreds for the cause, which was created to help children with a range of heart conditions and improving early detection rates of cardiac conditions.
Speaking ahead of the run Barbara, who is Head of the Private Client law team at Hethertons, said: “Both Helen and I are really excited to be taking part in this year’s Great North Run and can’t wait to raise money for this fantastic cause.
“While it is not going to be an easy challenge, I am sure we will both be driven to complete this tough half-marathon by our drive to increase awareness about this organisation and what it does.”
