One of York’s leading law firms Hethertons Solicitors is to extend a helping hand to local businesses as they prepare for major changes to employment law from April this year.
Presented by Hethertons Solicitors’ experienced employment law team, the talk will cover the new rights for workers and employees under the Government’s Good Work Plan, the introduction of Parental Bereavement Leave, rules surrounding employment post-Brexit and other proposed changes in the year ahead.
The firm will be hosting the free breakfast briefing at its office in York Sports Club at Clifton Park on 28 February 2020. The event will run from 8am until 10am and will also give attendees a chance to meet up with other local business owners and employers in a relaxed, friendly environment.
David Scott, Head of Employment Law at Hethertons Solicitors, said: “Employers are facing several new challenges this year, so we wanted to make sure that they are properly prepared for what is to come.
“Not complying with the latest employment rules could leave a business exposed to a grievance, disruption and tribunal claim. The first step to avoid this is for businesses to learn more about their obligations and legal responsibilities.
“Our breakfast briefings provide practical advice to those who manage a business, so they can spend less time on employment related issues and more time on their business.”
Hethertons has held many popular seminars in recent years with high attendance from local business leaders.
In anticipation of a strong response from companies in and around York, it is encouraging people to sign up as quickly by contacting David Scott via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
