Senior Associate Solicitor; Head of the Private Client Department
Barbara worked as a trainee solicitor at a Harrogate-based law firm before joining Hethertons in 2002.
She is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the specialist professional body for the trust and estate profession worldwide.
Full STEP members are recognised as the most experienced practitioners in the field of trusts and estates. Barbara is also a member of the Private Client section of the Law Society and an associate member of SFE (Solicitors for the Elderly).
Barbara has extensive experience of drafting Wills, codicils and powers of attorney, advising the elderly, court of protection work and the administration of estates and trusts.
Barbara is a very keen walker. As a member of the Long-Distance Walkers Association she has successfully completed six 100-mile challenge walks (100 miles in 48 hours!) as well as Offa’s Dyke, the South West Coastal Path, the Pennine Way, the West Highland Way, the Great Glen Way and the Coast to Coast.
Barbara also enjoys step aerobics and pilates classes, reading and spending time with her family.
