  Haulage Firm Prosecuted after worker killed.


 

Tooles transport Limited, a haulage firm, has been sentenced following a fatal incident in which a driver was crushed by a reversing vehicle.

The incident occurred in December 2013 when an employee was assisting a colleague to reverse a vehicle and he became trapped between the vehicle and his own vehicle causing fatal injuries.

  Hetherton’s raising money for charity of year through bike ride challenge.


 

Tom Henry a specialist in commercial property and director at Hethertons Solicitors recently took part in the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100, to raise money for Hethertons’ chosen charity of year -Tiny Tickers.

The challenging event, which took place on 29th July, involved a 100-mile cycle which started at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and required riders to complete miles of cycling on closed roads through the capital and into Surrey’s stunning countryside before returning to finish on The Mall.

  80% of Employment Tribunal refunds still unpaid


 

A year on from a Supreme Court ruling that held that paying a fee to bring an Employment Tribunal claim was unlawful, there are still around 80 per cent of refunds outstanding.

According to figures recently published by the Ministry of Justice, it has so far only refunded £6.6 million of the expected £33 million refund cost.

  Swansea City directors awarded 100k unfair dismissal payout


 

Two former directors of Swansea City FC have been awarded more than £100,000 in compensation after being unfairly dismissed by the Championship club.

Steve Penny and Don Keefe were removed from the Swansea City board when the then Premier League club was taken over by a US-based consortium.
