New limits on employment tribunal awards have been announced by the Government.
The two key changes to be aware of:
- The limit on the compensatory award for ‘ordinary’ unfair dismissal has increased from £83,682 to £86,444.
- The maximum amount of one week’s pay for calculating statutory redundancy payments, and the basic award in unfair dismissal claims has increased from £508 to £525.
The new limits came into effect on 6 April 2019.
Changes have also been made to the statutory rates of maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental and sick pay.
