Home Information Packs    Print this page

A Home Information Pack ("HIP") is required for almost all properties. From 6 April 2009 the temporary period of marketing a property without a Home Information Pack in place ceases. From 6 April 2009 a Home Information Pack must be available before a property can be marketed. The Home Information Pack must contain:-

  • Index
  • Sale Statement
  • Energy Performance Certificate (or Predicted Energy Assessment)
  • Property Information Questionnaire (PIQ)
  • Office Copies and Title Plan (or if unregistered a SIM)
  • Copy of the Lease (if leasehold)
  • Local Authority and Water & Drainage searches (or confirmation that searches have been ordered)
The Property Information Questionnaire is completed by the seller and will contain basic information about the property that is likely to be of assistance to potential buyers.
