Simon Nellar

Simon Nellar is the Senior Partner of the Firm and the Head of the Family department. He has been qualified as a solicitor for more than 20 years, and for much of that time has specialised in family work. His extensive experience includes separation and divorce proceedings, and financial proceedings, including claims for maintenance, money, property and pensions. Simon has handled numerous cases involving high value assets (over £1 million pounds), substantial family businesses/companies, and complicated pension arrangements, including those of the Police and Armed Forces. He has represented unmarried partners claiming a share of property under trust legislation, and has negotiated numerous cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements. Simon has a wealth of experience in children cases, including applications relating to Residence and Contact, emigration, and change of name; he has also represented parents and grandparents in care proceedings. Simon is an accredited member of the Law Society's Family Panel and a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association), an organisation of family lawyers who are committed to a constructive approach to family law. Simon is also a Resolution accredited specialist with particular expertise in complex financial / property matters and disputes involving children. He is also a trained collaborative lawyer.
