Simon Crack

Simon joined Hethertons in 1999 and now specialises in advising the firm's business clients. He has wide experience of business-related issues including acquisition and disposal of many varieties of businesses, associated financial arrangements and commercial leases. Simon is a member of the York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and the Law Society's Property Section.

David Hallam

David has been with the firm for over 15 years and specialises in commercial property work. He has a significant following of developer and business clients and wide experience of a broad range of complex property matters including land acquisitions and disposals and commercial leases, acting for both landlords and tenants. David is a member of the Law Society's specialist Property Section and a member of the York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.

Jo Yeates

Jo joined the firm in 2007 and has over 13 years experience. She is an expert employment lawyer acting for both employers and employees. Jo regularly presents seminars and writes articles for publication. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers' Association, a specialist body dedicated to best practice in employment law. Having previously acted as staff partner for a number of years at her previous firm, she has hands-on experience of the day-to-day problems of managing a business.

Toby Conyers-Kelly

Toby Conyers-Kelly is a Senior Associate Solicitor and the head of the Civil and Commercial Litigation Department. Toby has 25 years experience in dealing with a wide variety of complex and high value commercial disputes including those arising between company shareholders and within partnerships. In addition, he has extensive experience of business disputes involving breach of contract, professional negligence, landlord and tenant and intellectual property rights.

Barbara Stephens

Barbara joined the firm in 2002 and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the specialist worldwide body for this sector of the profession. She has considerable experience of dealing with complex trusts and estates and the related inheritance tax issues. Barbara specialises in drafting wills and associated tax planning which are particularly important where business assets are involved.
